Keyboard Pants

Pants are considered as the clothing worn on the lower half of the body that covers both legs separately. This type of clothing in Canada, South Africa and United States are often referred to as Pants whereas in the rest of the foreign countries it is referred to as Trousers. It was made in 16th century and came in 20th century with the auxiliary like belt or braces to hold it firmly.

These auxiliary are now accompanied technological device like keyboard. Yes, it is the time for the pants where the computer keyboards are infused on the thighs part of the pants where one can work with wireless technology.
These keyboard pants are designed in such a way that the speakers are located on the knees and around the back there is a pocket to hold the mouse.

The specialty of the mouse is its Cordless type. One of the designers of these keyboard pants is Erik De Nijs, a Frenchman looking to create a new history in the design of costumes. These keyboard pants are the prototype. These portable multimedia devices have their own full advantages compared to the non-portable gadgets. These keyboard pants give the user almost the full PC experience. But the user should get familiar with the keyboard pants as it is to be practiced well to have good comfort. This is the limitation of this type of pants for the text input. These keyboard pants will be more useful to user with the smart phones and PDA’s which at times lack in their keyboard facilities where as the Laptops do not need this keyboard pants as they have their own inbuilt keyboard, making it much easier to use that keyboard in their pants. Might be this type of pants cannot be worn to parties as it may look too strange for others.
These pants contain Semi-Functional keyboard with the Ergonomics and Fashion rarely mixed in right quantity making it more useful. The basic idea of the design of keyboard pants is to take a flexible Silicone keyboard and integrate it with some pants.

WAYS TO DESIGN A KEYBOARD PANTS:

The primary step to design is to cut the computer keyboard into two equal halves. These halves will be convenient only when they are placed at the thigh part of the pants especially at the middle of the thigh part. The traces cannot be joined by soldering as the soldering process is very complicate hence traces are joined through the conductive thread. The basic processes involved in designing the keyboard pants by you are as follows:

• Keyboard is scanned using scanner.
• The scanned image is imported in the Inkscape and the vector directions are traced.
• Cutting can be made through the Laser cutter only. Corel Draw is used for the laser cutting process.
• Jeans is cut through Laser by placing the wood as the medium to ensure the cut is made only on the frontal part of the pant.
• Edges are of silicone thus making them to sew easily.
• Sew the backside (inner side) of the keyboard in order to ensure that the keyboard does not touch the skin.

Designing a keyboard pant is easier if the proper care is taken in cutting the keyboard and mapping its location correctly.
